First Inter-School Meeting for Peace and Nonviolence

Tucumán (Argentina)
05 Nov 2010
On November 5th, 160 students between the ages of 9 and 12, 12 teachers and a headmistress participated in the meeting at the Juan B. Terán Building, belonging to the Province Cultural Centre. The purpose was to develop an attitude opposed to the daily violence felt in different situations, especially among children and young people. Before, during and after the event the Principle “Treat others as you want to be treated”, shared by many cultures and religions, was studied and translated in group posters that showed the children’s ideas and conclusions. The children expressed the world they want without any difficulty and the teachers decided to carry on this project organising other similar events.
