In Athens, on the 12th of April, The Global Day of Actions against Military Spending, World without Wars, dressed up as the “invisibles”, together with other 10 organizations and 2 political parties, carried out an important event in order to create awareness of the extremely high military expenditure, especially in contrast to the severe budget cuts in social services (salaries, pensions, health, education etc.).
The action took place outside parliament. This economic contrast was presented with pieces of clothing in different colours to represent the numbers: in black was military spending while in other colours were the social needs and the money actually invested in them. The outcome was great and made clear to the people this outrageous percentage.
